A Taste of The Tropics - Zen Bar

Zen Cocktail Bar held their Grand Opening tonight, October 20, 2011. Despite the early evening rain, a good crowd turned up to welcome the newest addition to Jomtien's entertainment scene. 

Gentle Caribbean rhythms played through the sound system as the staff, dressed in bright tropical attire, served a myriad of alcoholic concoctions.

 Zen Bar is open nightly (except Tuesdays) and is located in the heart of exciting Jomtien Complex between The Venue and Question Mark Bar.

AQ Boys Bar is having their Grand Opening Party on Thursday, Oct 13th starting at 8pm. Check out this newly opened bar located in the heart of exciting Jomtien Complex!

The Pour House - a Rich Experience

Jomtien Complex welcomed it's newest Bar on Saturday, April 23 - The Pour House. Located across the street from Ganymede Bar & Residence, The Pour House promises to be a great new watering hole for ex-pats and visitors alike.

While the Pour House is a Gay Bar, it is not a "Boy Bar". Think of it more as a place where you can meet up with friends, or even take your Boyfriend to, without feeling pressured into buying the staff "boy drinks".

While the official Grand Opening Party is still weeks away, The Pour House is open for business with a friendly, smiling staff, good drink prices, a large 50" TV above the bar, Pool Table, Popcorn Machine, Electronic Dart Board and comfortable seating. The Bar Opens daily from 5pm.

In the coming days, the Terrace Bar will open, a stage for shows will be built and regular events nights will be announced.

The Long Bar is proving to be a very popular spot to "belly up" as is the newly built community table in the room's center. The decor is Green & Gold with beautiful wood ceiling and trim work. While not air conditioned, the numerous ceiling fans kept the place quite comfortable even on a hot, muggy April night.

The Drink menu currently is basic - Beer (Draft & Bottle), House Red & White Wine, Mixed Drinks and soft drinks - this is not a Martini Bar and doesn't pretend to be. Happy Hour Specials on Draft Beer (By the glass or Pitcher) are available from 5pm - 8pm daily. Of course, the Popcorn is free!!

While other areas have seen a downturn it business (and closings), Jomtien Complex has seen a resurgence of late with quite a number of new establishments opening in the past few months (Spilia Karaoke, Themae Sauna, QM Bar, Pattaya Hotmale, Pour House). Even more gay owned businsses are opening soon.

The great thing about Jomtien Complex is that it offers you not only a very diverse Bar scene -, you can find a variety of great places to eat, accommodations (at reasonable prices) and it's only a five minute walk from the world famous Gay Beach.

So the next time you are in Jomtien Beach, take a stroll down to "The Pour House" in Jomtien Complex, you'll find it will be a "rich" experience.

Spilia Karaoke Open Til Dawn

Spilia Karaoke continues to be a very popular late night spot - and now it's open even later.  Due to popular demand, Spilia has adjusted it's hours.

Now, you can sing til the sun comes up!  Spilia is now open from 10pm - 6am nightly.  Come join the party!

Ganymede to Continue Live Music Happy Hour

Ganymede Bar & Residence held their first Live Music Happy Hour last night (Friday, Feb 11).

The turn out exceed expectations and the food and music were so popular, the management has decided to continue the event every Friday night  (at least through high season).

The music was provided by the Thai Duo "New Tree"  who rocked the house with great music from the 60's, 70's and to the present day. Food was provided by Sam's Mexican Restaurant.

The party returns next Friday night, 6pm - 8pm February 18th on the terrace. Below are some pictures from the event.

That is the tentative new name for the new bar going into the old Las Vegas Bar building (across from Ganymede).

I spoke at length with the new proprietor and he says the Australian Themed Bar will open sometime in April or May as there is considerable renovation needed to the property.

This is the most recent addition to the soi which has seen considerable growth over the past few months. More details to come...

Ganymede's Grand Opening PartyThe Live Music

Ganymede's Grand Open House Party, held last night, was a huge success! A large crowd descended on the Bar  before 8pm and continued into the very wee hours of Sunday morning!


The Sauna officially opens for general business today (Jan 9th) at 3pm. Admission is 150 baht.
